Take Action!
Action Step: Just drag them all in!
Open Windows Explorer or Finder and move all your photos into one place.
That's right. Move them from the desktop, all your SD cards, pull out those old CD's, plug in your phone and just plop them one big messy folder. If you must, label the folders "Old Hard Drive," "To Sort," etc.
Don't over write any files, you can de-duplicate them later. If need be, create a folder like 'Desktop photos to sort 2015' and be done with it.
Don't try to set up a fancy system, that will just slow you down. You may not even need to sort them by date if you are using a photo organizer like Photoshop Elements Organizer.
Don't try to solve all your tech issues today, just do what you can to get them all in one place.
You can use this printable checklist to send you on a treasure hunt around your hard drive.
For more information about this process, I go into lots of detail in my Get Organized: Photos class.

In the next lesson, we'll be using Photoshop Elements Organizer to help you manage your photos. Don't worry, Organizer does all the hard work for you!
See you soon!
Once that's done Organizer will help find your best photos for the yearbook in the next lesson.
